Montreal, Quebec, March 22nd 2017 – TKO goes back to the grass roots of MMA on June 16th 2017 at Complexe JC Perreault as four woman will participate in TKO’s first ever 4-woman tournament. The tournament format is as exciting as it comes for the fans and only the toughest athletes can go through the draining experience of fighting and winning twice on the same night!

In the preliminary round of the tournament, Oshawa’s own Lindsay Garbatt (4-2-0) will look to redeem herself after a disappointing loss at TKO37 as she squares off with BJJ world champion Corinne Laframboise (1-0-0). On the other side of the tournament, undefeated Belgium star Griet Eeckhout (3-0-1) will try to remain undefeated against Muay Thai phenom Ashley Nichols (1-1-0). Both winners will then fight later on that night in the tournament finals. Two more tournaments are expected at TKO39, in the men’s welterweight and heavyweight divisions.

The format of the tournaments will be as follows: in the preliminary round, bouts will consist of two five minutes rounds – if the fight goes to the judges decision and is declared a draw, a third and ultimate round will take place to determine a winner. In the finals of the tournament, just like in regular bouts it will be three rounds of five minutes.

TKO39 will be live from St-Roch de l’Achigan, Quebec, Canada, 20 minutes north of Montreal at Complexe JC Perreault on June 16th 2017 and will feature tournaments in the woman 115 pound division, and in the men’s welterweight and heavyweight divisions. Both the prelims and the main card will be televised live on UFC FIGHT PASS worldwide and from coast to coast in Canada on the FIGHT NETWORK. Replays will then be available in French on RDS. Tickets go on sale on April 10th 2017.
