WELTERWEIGHTS XAVIER AND DUFORT SET TO DO BATTLE AT TKO FIGHT NIGHT 1

Montreal, Quebec (Canada) Tuesday May 29th 2018 – Another fight with major implications on the standings has been made official today as Leonardo “Black Ice” Xavier (4-1-1, 2 KO) will square off with Michael Dufort (5-2-0, 5 sub) at TKO Fight Night 1 on August 2nd.

TKO fans saw Xavier compete last September when he came out on the wrong end of a close unanimous decision.  The tall and lanky welterweight from Vancouver is known for his standup skills but does have a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and represents a danger for anyone who dares take him to the ground.

In contrast, Dufort has proven to be the most dangerous submission artist in TKO, having earned 5 consecutive first round victories, all in the first round.  Having now made the successful transition to his new weight class, a victory against a man like Xavier would prove that he should be considered as part of the division’s elite and open the possibility for a championship fight later this year.

TKO Fight Night 1 happens Thursday, August 2nd at La Tohu in Montreal, Canada.  Tickets are available now by calling (514) 700-1909.
